This is what patriotic Americans look like. They were welcomed as new citizens at a special ceremony held at Stratford Hall, the boyhood home of two Founding Fathers of the United States and signers of the Declaration of Independence: Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee.

There are nine main requirements for citizenship. Here are three. The applicant must be of good moral character, i.e., no serious criminal convictions, aggravated felonies, fraud, etc. They must be willing to take an Oath of Allegiance to the United States. They must study the answers to one hundred questions on American history, government, and democratic principles in order to pass an oral exam of just ten. Here are five of them:

1. Who is the Chief Justice of the United States now?
2. What is one responsibility that is only for U.S. citizens?
3. How many amendments does the Constitution have?
4. What are the two longest rivers in the United States?
5. Who was President during World War I?

These immigrants may very well be more patriotic and knowledgeable than many natural-born Americans.
