Xiomaro’s photos have a texture and ambiance that are certainly unique. The angles and colors produce a mood that does what art should – draw one into the moment and suspend them there. Observer-Tribune (June 7, 2022)
Morristown National Historical Park (“MNHP”), in New Jersey, celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2023. This historic milestone presented an opportunity for MNHP – America’s first designated historical park – to reintroduce itself to the rapidly changing global and local communities it serves in the 21st century.
To lead the commemoration period beginning in 2022, the U.S. National Park Service commissioned me to create fine art photographs of the park’s key features:
The main exhibition was on view at the park’s Visitor Center with a companion display at its Washington’s Headquarters Museum. Audiences also got reintroduced to the park through a public photo walk and illustrated talk I presented about my National Park photography.
Funding was made possible, in part, by Morris Arts through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional funding was provided by Morristown National Historical Park, which is “proud to be a partner of Xiomaro’s fine art photography.”
