It’s difficult to sum up what this ancient island nation is like. Some thoughts come to mind: spectacular landscapes, historic architecture, charming towns, and down-to-earth people. The photographs were created as part of a trip to investigate the feasability of establishing a 12-day retreat. What locations, weather conditions, subject matter, and compositional techniques can be anticipated for teaching budding and experienced photographers?
The idea was to focus on the art of seeing and help folks discover their own personal style regardless of whether they are using a professional DSLR, point-and-shoot, or smartphone camera. More than just a scenic tour of well-trodden sites, the workshop would go off the beaten path, all while getting introduced to the history, culture, and cuisine of Ireland with new friends that share a passion for the arts.
