An image from Xiomaro’s New York City street photography collection will be among the images on display at Gallery Photiq in England. The print will be on view from May 1 to 25, 2024 at the gallery’s World of Colour international group exhibition.
According to the gallery, it received “265 entries from six countries” and “the standard of quality was very high.” From that number, the curators “had to narrow down all the entries to just 36 images for the exhibition.”
The gallery was seeking “vibrant, energetic colour images” that will “delight viewers’ senses and inspire the imagination with beautiful imagery depicting places and people from around the globe.” The images had to “capture the essence and feeling of the subject, while also showing [the artist’s] personal response and unique interpretation.”
The photograph, utilizing glass reflections to depict street life on Broadway, is being exhibited for the time and is under consideration for inclusion in a book to be authored by Xiomaro and published by Fonthill Media in the U.K.
