Xiomaro To Publish Book on The Wildwoods of New Jersey

Xiomaro, an artist whose National Park photography is widely exhibited in the U.S. and abroad, has signed a second contract with Fonthill Media, a leading publisher based in England.  Under the worldwide agreement, the artist will author a book of photography about the Wildwoods in New Jersey as part of a new series, “Photographer’s America.” The book is scheduled for release in 2026 under America Through Time, an imprint of Sutton Publishing.

The book will feature approximately 160 color and black-and-white images capturing the essence of the resort. Every year, over 9 million tourists flock to one of America’s best family beach vacation spots—“The Wildwoods” of New Jersey. The iconic barrier island is acclaimed as much for its kitschy “Doo Wop” architecture and signage as for its famous boardwalk, ranked among the top ten most popular in the nation.

But the Wildwoods are more than sunshine, blue skies, and quirky motels. This five-mile strip has an edge rarely seen in other books. The colorful explosion of unabashed patriotism, tattooed hipsters, flamboyantly-feathered mummers, dazzling custom vehicles, and provocative political T-shirts and signs subvert the resort’s quaint 1950s trappings. As summer fades, the beach, boardwalk, and back streets return to the fewer than 13,000 residents. The quiet solitude and starkness of the off-season provide a welcome respite before the Wildwoods awaken again.

Xiomáro’s work has been covered by The New York Times, Fine Art Connoisseur magazine, as well as PBS, CBS, ABC, and Fox Nation. His photography has been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries. Xiomáro was an entertainment attorney representing celebrities before overcoming cancer and pursuing photography. He is the author of Street Photography of New York City – Street Haunting in the Big Apple (Fonthill Media, 2025) and Weir Farm National Historic Site (Arcadia Publishing, 2019) with a foreword by Senator Joe Lieberman.
