The artist will be on hand to discuss his photography of National Park sites, as seen on PBS and other major television networks. Learn about his latest projects celebrating George Washington and America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
While there, explore Stratford Hall and welcome new young Americans at the citizenship ceremony. Then spend an exciting day of living history demonstrations including cavalry drills portraying the 1st and 4th Continental Light Dragoons, musket demonstrations with the Sons of the American Revolution, and 18th century cooking demonstrations in the Historic Kitchen. Relax while listening to colonial music in the Great House, enjoy the student art exhibit, participate in games and hands-on activities. Don’t forget to check out all the local food trucks.
Virginia Resolved is a great day and way to commemorate the 249th anniversary of Richard Henry Lee’s resolution for independence on June 7, 1776. The resolution called for the recognition of the colonies as free and independent states and for the dissolution of all political connections with Great Britain. More information and tickets.
