For this exhibition, the New York Center for Photographic Art (NYC4PA) sought all types of reflections of objects, people, animals or even just the reflection alone. The reflection could be clearly seen or could be distorted by ripples, oil deposits, curved glass, and other surface irregularities. Worldwide submissions underwent a blind jury process by Darren Ching, the co-owner of Klompching Gallery, a prestigious contemporary fine art gallery in Brooklyn’s DUMBO district.
Xiomaro’s Reflecting Pool was one of Ching’s 20 Juror Selections for inclusion in the exhibition catalogue. The photograph depicts the facade of 1251 Avenue of the Americas (between 49th and 50th Streets in Midtown Manhattan) as seen from the two-tiered reflecting pool on the public plaza. Within the shadow, a worker passes by.
NYC4PA provides exhibition opportunities in the vibrant New York City gallery world to photographers around the globe.
