Savannah was founded in 1783 and was one of the largest ports in the United States involved in the slave trade, supplying enslaved people to Southern cotton and rice plantations. Today, the city’s tree-lined cobblestone streets, architecture, squares, and parks are an attraction for visitors interested in historic neighborhoods and preservation sites. This is an ongoing project with photographs being gradually added to the gallery.
