For this exhibition, “Botanical” means plants, trees, flowers, grasses, moss… all things that grow, but are not animals. Xiomaro’s Purple Iris is included among the wide range of images on display.
Photographs could be scenic, close-up, macro, or still life with subjects that are alive or dead, land-based, or aquatic. Color, black-and-white, or anything in between is acceptable as long as the images are creative, aesthetically pleasing, and expressive.
According to the gallery, “the standard of quality was very high. We received several hundred entries and had to select only 44 photos for the print exhibition.”
Gallery Photiq, based in England, specializes in fine art photography. The gallery is owned by Nat Coalson, an internationally acclaimed artist, author, speaker, and consultant—as well as an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society.
