Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz spent roughly 16 years at Lake George during the summers and autumns. O'Keefe produced about 200 paintings and Stieglitz created close to 100 photographs.

Stieglitz's photographs of Lake George were darker and melancholic. Perhaps a reflection of his advancing age.
