Book: The Nature of Trees

The Nature of Trees
by Kristen Hoving and Rick Clark (2011)

The Nature of Trees was an international juried group exhibit held by Vermont's PhotoPlace Gallery.  Forty images were selected from over 1,600 that were submitted.  One of my photographs, Birch Bark (the ninth image from my FractalScapes series), was chosen by photographer and author Sean Kernan.  The 40 exhibited photographs, along with an additional 35 runner-up images, are published in this book of the same title.  Birch Bark appears on page 56.

TR in '12

TR in '12
Curators:  Rick Marschall and Gregory A. Wynn (2012)

My photograph of an original TR presidential campaign banner appears as a spread in this exhibit catalogue.  Two banners were recreated from the photograph to display outside and inside the exhibit buildings.

The exhibition opened at the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace in New York City before traveling to the Oyster Bay Historical Society.  Over one hundred objects relating to TR's 1912 presidential campaign were available for public viewing, including the revolver that would-be assassin John Schrank fired at Roosevelt in Milwaukee three weeks before the election.  The exhibition was organized by the Theodore Roosevelt Association in partnership with the National Park Service and the Oyster Bay Historical Society.
