This is the time of year when I evaluate where I've been and where I want to go. There are three things I'm focusing on right now.
For the past 10 years, I have been working out of a historic space that was large, but divided up into many small rooms. The configuration made it difficult to keep equipment accessible and to set up tables when it came time for printing and framing large photographs for exhibitions.
I recently relocated to an open studio space of just under 1,000 square feet. I'm preparing it so that I have options to reconfigure it for a smoother workflow depending on the project I may be working on.
The new space will also enable me to record vocals and live instruments with less set-up time and to mix those tracks more accurately. I'll be procuring the same type of system that Michael Jackson utilized, which should give me the flexibility I am seeking.
